    bpbeep said... What a fantastic hidden gem! We went to Waimangu on a Tuesday and had the place almost to ourselves. It made experiencing the beauty of the area even more special. The facilities are great, and the map told us everything we need to know about each of the featured stops. The bright blue crater that reaches 80° was gorgeous! We loved that the bus picked us up at the end of the walk. It makes it so much easier for children or elderly to enjoy this walk too. Unfortunately the track was under repair so we could only experience half the walk, which we wish we had known before booking. Something to be mindful of is the park is located at the very end of Waimangu Rd, don’t stop at the farm address listed!
