What an amazing place. In the mist of natural bush there are mud pools.boiling hot streams and white terraces.we enjoyed it very much.Give it 5 stars .
Absolutely incredible place that was a highlight of our NZ trip. So quiet and peaceful, such beautiful walks. Loved the tree signs and info. Great thermal views. Great cafe.
A great way to while away a couple of hours watching this amazing planet we live on do its thing. A short trip across the river, that runs every 10 minutes, takes you to a leisurely walk with a lot of steps if you do the whole route. The route takes you mainly along boardwalks travelling directly through the silica fields. We loved it. Although we didn’t stay the freedom camping looked great.
This is the second time I have been there! I love it! I last came as a young single person over 10 years ago and loved it so much I’ve been looking forward to have to opportunity to go again. Finally found it this year with my husband and 2 year old. He (the toddler!) walked most of the track, albeit quite slowly! The tracks are well maintained. It is a great experience, from the boat shuttle to the signage, definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience
Highly recommend booking a visit to Orakei Korako. The short ferry ride across the Waikato River was just the precursor to an amazing morning, walking through the stunning silica terraces. Lots of steps along the way but well worth it, as the incredible views kept appearing around every corner. Bubbling mud pools and a wonderful cave too. This a magical and very special experience which I shall remember for a very long time. The cafe too was a real treat after our adventure - lots of lovely treats and such friendly staff.
