Although brought to New Zealand during the gold rush era, acupuncture has long been used to treat a variety of health concerns in holistic Chinese medicine for thousands of years. Whether you’re dealing with muscular pains, stress, insomnia, or other internal pains, acupuncture can help restore energy flow back into its proper balance.
This ancient technique involves the insertion of very thin needles through the patient’s skin at specific points on the body called acupuncture points. The needles are inserted at various depths which stimulate the flow of energy around the network of pathways throughout the entire body resulting in a balance of energy and pain relief. Acupuncture has been proven to treat a broad range of painful ailments, and is a safe treatment suitable for all ages.
Tuina massage, also known as tui-na (pronounced twee-nah), is said to be the oldest technique of bodywork originated in ancient China. This technique uses many of the same principles of acupuncture but instead of needles, practitioners massage the acupressure points with their hands bringing balance to the body and alleviating pain.
Each session will be tailored to your specific needs and will include a 5-10 minute consultation, a 35-minute acupuncture treatment, and a 15-minute massage. All treatments will be carried out by expert acupuncturists and Chinese Medicine practitioners.

Friendly and professional
I booked a 1-hour acupuncture and massage session, but during my visit I received acupuncture and cupping instead. While I understand that mix-ups can happen, this wasn’t quite what I had expected based on my booking. The practitioner was friendly and professional, and the treatment itself was well delivered. I just wish there had been a quick check-in beforehand to confirm the service, as that would have helped ensure everything matched my expectations. Overall, a positive experience in terms of care, but I hope this feedback helps improve communication around bookings for future clients.
